Pitcher plants are carnivores who trap their pray by closing the lid of their pitchers. Each pitcher contains digestive enzymes. In order to digest food the pitchers must be 1/4 full of water and enzymes. While a healthy plant produces its own enzymes you can use purified water to fill the pitchers. Can be fed by dropping bugs in some of the pitchers every 2-3 weeks during the active growing season (February-September).
